Music at St. Andrew’s Presents: A Christmas Carol

December 3, 2016 @ 7:30 pm11:00 pm

Is Dickens’ A Christmas Carol a holiday season staple in your household? Then join us Saturday, December 3 at 7:30 p.m. as Music at St. Andrew’s presents a reading of this timeless, beloved tale. We’ve lined up some dynamic readers for this evening’s program. They include St. Andrew’s member Brian Stewart, currently a Distinguished Senior Fellow at the Munk School of Global Affairs, who will lend his voice to the proceedings. So will Florence MacGregor, embodiment/vocal coach and actor (Emmanuel College, Stratford Festival), and classical music lecturer/educator Rick Phillips. (f you attended St. Andrew’s WWI and WWII commemorations in 2014 and 2015, you’ll remember the contributions that Brian, Florence and Rick made at those events.)

Between readings on December 3, the choirs of St. Andrew’s will perform God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen, What Child Is This, Hark! the Herald Angels Sing and other popular carols. The congregation’s favourite jazz pianist, Jordan Klapman, will also perform an improvisational piece in the spirit of the season. Stay on afterwards for a yummy gingerbread reception.

Admission is free, but donations will be accepted for St. Andrew’s Refugee Support program. Bring your friends and family!
