  • 7:00pm – Music by Jim Maxwell & Alanna Jenish. Cocktail reception and dinner (attendees to cover their own food and drinks)
  • 10:00pm – Shreem Celtic Remixing featuring Emily Yarascavitch
  • Guest bagpiper: Rory Sinclair
The Tartan Day event will be very similar to the fall mixer back in October at the Brazen Head Pub. Check out this video for those that missed it!
Tartan Day originated as a North American celebration of Scottish heritage. April 6th was chosen to commemorate the signing of the Declaration of Arbroath in 1320. The first Tartan Day celebration took place in Nova Scotia in April 1987. On December 19, 1991, in response to action initiated by the Clans & Scottish Societies of Canada, the Ontario Legislature passed a resolution proclaiming April 6 as Tartan Day. Since then, Tartan Day has grown and is now celebrated around the world including the United States, Australia, Argentina and beyond.
