University of Guelph Scottish Studies Fall Colloquium 2014

fall colloquiumThe 2014 Scottish Studies Fall Colloquium will be held on 4 October 2014 in University Centre (UC) Room 103, University of Guelph, from 9:30 am to 4:30 pm (registration opens at 9 am). View the schedule here.

Presenters include:

  • Michael Lynch (University of Edinburgh)
  • Ken McGoogan, author of How the Scots Invented Canada
  • Alison Jackson & Ruth Douglas (Guelph Embroiders’ Guild)
  • a student panel showcasing current research at University of Guelph
  • and the official launch of the Scottish Chapbooks website

Registration is $30 for Scottish Studies Foundation members and for early-bird registrants on or before September 26, 2014; the price increases to $35 for registrants after that date. A student rate of $10 is available. As always, lunch and coffee breaks are included. Registration will be available online; queries can be directed to scottish@nulluoguelph.ca .

Payment can be made at the door or online with registration.

This year’s colloquium will feature sales of new publications and used books to support the Centre for Scottish Studies’ efforts, as well as books donated by Dr. Cicely Watson to support the Frank Watson Travel Award.
