The Government of Canada has declared April 6 each year as Tartan Day. That is the date on which The Declaration of Arbroath, Scotland's Declaration of independence, was signed in 1320. Following the lead of Nova Scotia, most provinces had already taken this step. The federal government has now given it national recognition. For the official news release, go to
